17 Days
17 days. And then I’ll be in Indonesia.
The Indonesian Embassy here in Berlin did an amazing job and already sent me the visa and the recommendation letter. Thanks! ![]()
The vaccinations are organized and I’m getting everything I need in time! ![]()
Sadly the DAAD didn’t have enough funds to help me out financially, but my great aunt jumped in and gave me the money for the vaccinations (which will be around 400€) and the meds and stuff for healthy living conditions that I need to buy in advance. (Malaria meds, travel emergency set, moskito repellents, moskito net, etc.) I am really glad that my great aunt did this for me because I already started to wonder if I should get less vaccinations or something, since my bullshit health insurance won’t cover the shots! (AOK that is – what is it they DO cover!?! – I probably should change that as soon as I am back… :S) Well… they definitely are missing opportunities to prevent people from getting sick – good job there!! :S
Well…now all I got to do is to buy the few things that I still need for the stay, book a cheap flight from Jakarta to Yogya online, figure out a good (and cheap) way to call from Germany to Indonesia (suggestions would be great!), get the bags packed, and enjoy the remaining days with my love.
I am sure this stay in Indonesia won’t be easy, there will be problems I have to figure out and it all will be a big challenge. But I am eager to meet it. It will be a life-time learning opportunity that I don’t want to pass by… And hopefully after all that I got the teaching down and don’t have that stage fright kinda thing anymore that I always get before stuff like that. That’d be all worth it!
